Packing List Tips: It may be worthwhile to print a copy of your comleted checklist for insurance purposes. Detail the items (especially the valuable ones) on the back of your printed copy - such as camera, binoculars, electronics, jewelry, expensive clothing items. Lost luggage insurance usually has a fixed limit for reimbursement, but you may be able to write off any amount you did not receive compensation for.
When you return, I suggest you make note of all items you brought but did not use - this will help the next time you travel to avoid over-packing (and you may just have a little more room for those souveniers)....
